Point-Of-Care Diagnostics

The point-of-care diagnostics market is estimated to be over $11 billion in size and growing at an annual rate over 10%. Components include consumer self-testing, primary care (physician's office) testing and hospital emergency room testing.

Test categories include:

  • Blood glucose
  • Blood gas/electrolytes
  • Hematology
  • Pregnancy/fertility
  • Tumor markers
  • Cardiology
  • Coagulation
  • Infectious Disease
  • Drugs of Abuse
  • Clinical Chemistry/Urinalysis

Addressing the needs of point-of-care diagnostics, whether the sample be saliva, urine, blood or some other body fluid, is a logical extension of Cantimer's technical capabilities. The company has already demonstrated “proof of concept” in the application of its technology to the detection and measurement of single strand DNA, Antigen/Antibody complexes, a virus (Vaccinia), electrolytes such as sodium and potassium, pH and a broad array of analytes including ethanol, urea and glucose.

Cantimer welcomes enquiries regarding its platform and/or potential new applications. If you are interested in licensing the technology or partnering with Cantimer in the development of sensors or devices for proprietary assays, please contact:
